John W. Vaudreuil, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that Bernard C. Seidling, 62, Eau Claire, Wisconsin, was sentenced today to three years in federal prison without parole, and fined $10,000, by Judge Barbara B. Crabb in United States District Court in Madison. Seidling was ordered to report to federal prison on May 21, 2013.

A young man neared the entrance to the Republican Party office during the 2008 presidential election. The man at the door politely, but ignorantly, pointed him to the Democratic Party office which was located across the street.

In the April Eau Claire County Board of Supervisors meeting, a resolution calling for a ban on "military-style" assault weapons and "high-capacity" magazines, among other calls, was passed by the board by a 17 to 10 vote. The resolution was sent to all elected officials representing the area in Madison and representing Wisconsin in Washington, D.C.
