Christian Values Cannot Save Anyone

All Authority Is Delegated

Repentance Necessary to be a Christian

"Repentance is a godly sorrow for sin. Repentance is a forsaking of sin. Real repentance is putting your trust in Jesus Christ so you will not live like that anymore. Repentance is permanent. It is a lifelong and an eternity-long experience. You will never love the devil again once you repent. You will never flirt with the devil as the habit of your life again once you get saved. You will never be happy living in sin; it will never satisfy; and the husks of the world will never fill your longing and hungering in your soul."

On Its 400th Anniversary, King James Bible Still Popular With Americans

Numerically, Bible ownership is similar to the percentage of Americans who indicate they are Christian. But owning a Bible and reading it are two different things.'

A Godless Party Expels the Creator

Posted: Wednesday, September 26th, 2012

The authors of the Democratic platform have inadvertently revealed to the world the sea change that has taken place in that party we once knew.                 For the first time -- and in the longest Democratic platform in history, 26,000 words -- there was not a single mention of God, the Creator, whom Thomas Jefferson himself, father of the party, proclaimed to be the author of our right to life and liberty.

London is Agnostic

Posted: Wednesday, September 26th, 2012

Few things became clearer to me during a recent stay in London, England - the prevailing sentiment of agnosticism among both the young and the old.  Agnosticism is a belief that a person does not know if there is a God or not.   This is the confession of most Londoners.

Did Jesus Address Same Sex Marriage?

Posted: Wednesday, August 29th, 2012

Today it is popular among those promoting same sex marriage to say that Jesus never addressed the issue, that He was silent on the subject.  Those who affirm the historical and traditional understanding of marriage between a man and woman often are admonished to go and read more carefully the Bible.

Jesus Christ Historically Validated

A Simple Way to Reduce the Prison Population

Posted: Tuesday, December 27th, 2011

Many of this nation's earliest settlers paid for their passage as indentured servants. A thief who was unable to make restitution for a property crime could be sold into servitude for his theft (Ex. 22:3b). Property crimes are best paid for by restitution, and when this is not possible, working off a debt is the next best thing.

The Bible and the American Frontier

Posted: Saturday, December 17th, 2011

American expansion was relentless after the American Revolution.  From 1776 to 1850, settlers pushed into the Mississippi River Valley and then set their sights on Texas and beyond. As they moved outward, citizens in the original colonies felt a duty to ensure these settlers were not cut off from their spiritual roots.

Christianity and Islam Compared - Part 2

Posted: Friday, November 25th, 2011

"Since Islam teaches that the Bible has been corrupted, they view their versions of the biblical narratives to be correct. A number of surahs teach that Allah sent the revisions of the biblical stories to Muhammed to "fix" the corrupted Bible surahs 6:34, 4:82, 10:65. Examples of these "errors" are; Christ did not die on the cross. Judas or someone else died in his place. Abraham did not sacrifice Isaac on the altar, but rather Ishmael. Jesus Christ will return at the end times to kill all the Jews and Christians who refuse to worship Allah."

China's Cold War on Christianity Perpetuates Historic Persecutions

Posted: Wednesday, August 17th, 2011

"In communist China Christians are persecuted, as they are in Islamic lands, as well as in India. Chic disdain for Christianity in most of Europe is growing more blatant, as the effete nomenklatura kowtow to secular progressivism, to radical Islam, and to any other system hostile to the faith of either Jews or Christians. Indeed, as anyone who follows the cynical machinations of atheistic collectivists in America can grimly attest, the persecution of Christians on college campuses and within the federal bench is very real."

The Danger of Failed Predictions

The recent predictions by Camping and his billboard bizarre brought him and his thinking back into the limelight for many all across America, including myself. By now we all know Harold Camping was wrong. Jesus Christ did not return on the date Camping predicted."

These will make you a great and happier people than you are.'"

Why He Came

"He who preached the greatest sermons ever uttered did not come into the world primarily to preach. He who gave sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf and speech to the dumb did not come into the world primarily to heal. He whose lofty ideals and principles radiated from a sinless heart and a flawless character did not come into this world primarily to establish an example for conduct. He whose fidelity in life and courage in death will forever be incomparable did not come into this world primarily to teach men to live honestly and to die bravely. These attributes, however commendable and worthy, are insufficient to tell the motive which drove Him from realms celestial to regions terrestrial."

Home No. 1 for 300, was finished in June, 1849, almost four years after receiving the above letter for he would not go into debt to pay for it. Moving day was quite an event in the city as the children walked from Wilson Street up to Ashley Down with their personal belongings.
