Reducing The Infant Mortality Rate In Wisconsin
According to the Journal Times in Racine, "A Democratic state legislator repeatedly said Wednesday he was 'stunned' by the Joint Legislative Council Republicans, who rebuffed many of a special committee's policy recommendations to help reduce infant mortality saying some were 'unfunded mandates.' It was reported that 'State Sen. Mary Lazich, R-New Berlin, co-chair of the council, disagreed, saying the council considered numerous proposals from various committees on Wednesday and a lot of them were rejected. She also said some of the infant mortality recommendations were redundant.' "
