Cooking Corner - Camping Granola

Written By: Ellen Kleven  |  Posted: Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011

Camping is one of my favorite ways to vacation in the summertime. I love being outside, sitting around campfires, hiking through the woods, swimming, and all of the other things that complete a camping experience. Everyone has different mental pictures for the word "camping". Whether you envision a sleeping bag under the stars, a plush RV, or a cabin with plumbing and electricity, one thing all campers consider is food.

Although I'd love to fill you in on the ins and outs of catching and filleting your own fish to fry over an open campfire, and as much as I'd enjoy leading you through a large camp's mess hall kitchen, I'm going to play it safe and take you down the most common path most of you will travel. Keep in mind, this article is for those who wish to bring (and cook) their own food, not for those looking for a vacation from the kitchen as well!
