[Disclaimer: We moved to Eau Claire long after Pastor Siemens passed away so I never had the privilege of meeting him. All the information is drawn from Nat Perry who worked with him in Colorado, Carolyn Bryce who first knew him as a child in Rock Falls, and Marlene Cripe, who was held in Mrs. Siemen's arms at two years old and sang at their funerals. We will gladly publish any corrections to the information presented. Also, if you have memories of Pastor M.R. you would like to share, send them to the Journal. We will collect these and print them in a future edition.]
"He was a born leader." "He was first a man of God." "He was a great soul winner." "Very, very special." These accolades came from the lips of people who knew M.R. Siemens personally. Most people in Eau Claire are unaware of the influence this man had on the history of the community. But it is fitting to step back and recognize him as one who have made our city a better place to live and, most of all, who brought many to a knowledge of the Savior.
