Christianity and Islam Compared, Part One

Written By: Richard Schwankl  |  Posted: Saturday, October 15th, 2011

After September 11, 2001 Muslim apologists tried to do damage control. One approach they used was to claim that Islam and Christianity really aren't that different. They said "We have many things in common. We both believe in one god." (Many times they claimed it was the same god.) "We both believe the Bible is the word of God. We both believe that Jesus was the son of Mary. We both believe in Jesus as Messiah and that Jesus will return again. Muslims believe that Muhammad was the prophet of Allah and we should try to live as he did. Christians believe that God sent Jesus to show us the way to heaven and we should try to imitate him." While these statements are true at face value, when we examine them closer many glaring contradictions emerge.
