"We are a Christian family," were the first words Moose (Michael) Hase, Sr. said to me when we sat down for our interview. "Our equipment, signs, everything we have has Colossians 3:23 printed on it: "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men…" (ESV) Moose continued with more of God's blessings by saying they don't advertise except in a couple of select ways. "No yellow pages, we get 2-3 new customers each month through the radio or personal references." Then I had to ask him (even though he is a big guy), how he got his nickname Moose. "Well, I played football in high school", Moose continued, "And during practice I'd tackle and hit hard and the guys would say, 'You're just a big moose!', and it stuck."

Moose and his wife Dawn have raised Michael Jr., who now runs the office and fills in where needed, Daniel, who is in charge of Interstate Auto and Big Rig Towing, and two daughters Elizabeth and Angela who both help out part-time. Moose spoke of his young years playing football and after marriage while raising a family, interacted with his children in the family's shop garage. As I listened, I could see how this father's life and love weaved into the lives of his sons.
