Local Bonds Highly Questionable

Recently the Eau Claire City Council passed resolutions issuing more bonds for a total of $59.51 million for the city of Eau Claire.  The bonds are to cover expenses for a range of street, utility, telecommunication, and facility improvements along with upgrades for TIF districts and public transit systems.

                Most of us know very little regarding bonds and how they work. In my experience, when I think of bonds, I think of churches issuing bonds to build buildings.  The result of this happening in the past was beyond calamitous.  It caused many churches to go bankrupt and dishonor the claims they made in the name of Christianity.
