Life on the Family Farm Under an Open Heaven - Enjoying Our Work

I knew for the last several months that we had a tough job coming up here on the farm. The job ended up being harder than what I expected, but also more enjoyable. I know to most people that would sound like a contradiction, but such was the case.
In my silos here, I have silo unloaders that save us a lot of work by getting the feed out of the silos for us. They have two augers with sharp little knives on them, which go around on top of the feed chewing it loose. Once the augers have the feed chewed loose, they feed it into a blower that shoots it out of the silo into the silo chute. From there, the feed falls down into an elevator, which brings it into the barn to a waiting feed cart. Once we have the cart full, we feed it around to a bunch of bright-eyed cows waiting for lunch.
