Prosecution Continues Against Mother

The child abuse case continues against Eau Claire's Amanda Parramoure. As previously reported in The Eau Claire Journal, Parramoure's two children were taken by Eau Claire County Social Services last fall after bruising was found on one of the children's bottom. Civil and later criminal charges were brought against her based on the notion that bruising constitutes injury and thus child abuse, though no such language exists in Wisconsin law.
While the civil case continues, the criminal case has been transferred to Dunn County where the specific incident of bruising occurred. Parramoure refused a plea bargain with Assistant DA Holly Wood Webster to reduce the charges to battery or negligence or to undergo a deferred agreement resulting in one year supervision of the parenting of her children.
