What to Do With the Fairfax Pool

Written By: The ECJ Staff  |  Posted: Thursday, August 4th, 2011

In order to meet State and local codes, and to repair the filter system, the Eau Claire City Council determined that the pool needs $1 million this year.  Recently, a committee set up by the City Manager and made up of twelve residents came out with a report outlining ideas on how the city should act and how to pay for this.

The conclusions of the report were that the pool should stay open.  The filter system needs replacement they said, and the mechanical room is leaking, which could damage the pool's equipment.  They also suggest that if the money is available, the bathhouse could be upgraded, emphasizing the need for a family changing room.
