County Supervisor Replaces God's Help with Government's Help

The Eau Claire County Board of Supervisors had their first "Moment of Reflection" since they voted to depart from the Invocation of God's help at the beginning of each board meeting. The Supervisors now can take their turn to spend a moment reflecting. The first meeting's moment of reflection was spoken by Supervisor Colleen Bates who spoke the following from former New York Governor Mario Cuomo concerning the proper government:
"We believe we [the government] must be the family of America, recognizing that at the heart of the matter we are bound one to another... that the failure anywhere to provide what reasonably we might, to avoid pain, is our failure."
