Should America Support Israel?

Written By: Dan Stanley  |  Posted: Thursday, March 1st, 2012

This is currently a debated issue, especially among the GOP candidates for Republican nomination.  If you have kept up with them, three of the four adamantly say yes, and the fourth (Ron Paul) is accused of not supporting Israel. So what about it?  Should America support Israel?

The problem in answering this is the question.  As often happens, the question is asked in a way that prohibits a clear answer.  To ask should we support Israel is like asking a father if he should support the neighbor's children because a bully is about to attack them.  The answer would be yes, because they are against the bully, but no, if it means that father is to take the place of the child's father in addressing the bully.
