The Legacy of Steve Jobs

"Steve is Dead." These words popped onto the screen of my iPod Wednesday evening, October 5th, 2011. I was stunned. He had been sick and looked gaunt for months. He had, on August 24th, given up the reins as Apple CEO for health reasons. But to think his life was over at age 56 was hard to fathom. Steve Jobs had revolutionized the way we listened to music, watched movies, searched the Internet, talked on the phone. His influence, directly or indirectly, touched everyone.
How well I remember the day in 1984 when I first put my hands on a mouse and ran a cursor across the screen of an Apple Macintosh. Who cared that it was black and white? You could drag, format, change fonts- it was a magic show! Over his years with Apple, Steve Jobs presented many magic shows, almost yearly in his keynote addresses where he always dressed casually in a turtleneck and bluejeans.
