"Local Couple Called to Sacrifice"

Written By: Kayleen Soden  |  Posted: Wednesday, August 29th, 2012

Trusting isn't always easy. Have you ever done something because someone asked you to (something you may not want to do or are afraid to do) just because you love and trust them? Many times that is what relationship is like with God. Dear friends of mine have experienced that recently. A call from God has taken them and their two young children far from family, friends, home, and all that they know. These friends are Travis and Paula Barton. Travis and Paula, now living in Texas and missionaries to Mexico, are from Eau Claire and attended church with my husband and I at Calvary Baptist. Their ministry to Mexico is called Feed My Lambs International (FMLI).

Paula has always been a religious person. She was raised in a Christian home but did not always live a Christian life. After living her own way for many years, God pulled her in to His loving arms, out of her religion and into relationship with Him. Travis knew nothing of Jesus growing up and lived homeless for a time. At one point he found himself attending a church and listening to a Godly man play music and worship Jesus. Travis wanted to know more. He found that "more" at a church near the Eau Claire area.
