Pushing the Electric Car Craze

With the support of Federal tax dollars, The Eau Claire City Council is stepping into the latest enviromentalist fad - hybrid and electric vehicles.
On November 7th, local Congressional Representative Ron Kind announced that almost a million dollars will be given to the City of Eau Claire in order to help them buy gas-electric hybrid buses to replace three aging buses of the government run Eau Claire Transit. The $880,000 grant is from the Federal Transit Administration's Good Repair Program which takes money from government bonds or from taxes collected from Americans and redistributes it to a few cities in order to make them "greener".
