Are We Losing Parental Rights?

The ongoing debate of Obamacare involves much more than governmental or socialized health care. Apart from Medicare and Medicaid, our medical system has been part of our great free enterprise system. Like the famous Presbyterian Hospital in New York City, other outstanding hospitals and medical schools have been founded by a cross-section of religious societies throughout our history. Truly, our medical system has been second to none in the world. But that seems to be rapidly changing with the encroaching tentacles of Socialism or government controlled medicine.
That being said, this trend involves other major concerns. In a country founded on the sacred principle of marriage of one man and one woman, a new challenge has emerged. Since this institution is now being redefined by society and government, the role of parents is also in jeopardy. With divorces "booming" at a 50+% rate, along with declining marriages and increasing "co-habitation," the whole landscape of family is changing.
