Clean Up Your Cooking Part 1 - Cookware

We all know that eating at home is a healthier and more affordable option for most families. You are in control of your ingredients as well as how they are stored and prepared. Typical family meals prepared at home - even using organic ingredients - range from only about $2.50 to $4 a person. Compare that to the average meal at a mid-range restaurant which can average $8- $15 per person! Even fast food is upwards of $5 per meal now.

January brings many resolutions, not the least of which usually incorporates healthier eating habits. Over the next few months, I'll share ideas and tips on how to choose the healthiest foods, identify good fats, spot questionable ingredients (label-read!) and more. As you are scouting your new recipes and preparing to meal-plan for your family, you'll be confident you are making healthy and smart decisions with both your food choices and your dollar.
