Fear of Homosexuals Tearing America Apart

Before he evolved, Dennis Miller once quipped that "the radical right is so homophobic that they're blaming global warming on the AIDS quilt." Today, that joke comes across like Billy Ray Cyrus' mullet, yet it is still part of the standard cultural stereotype of the Christian booboisie: clothes that don't match, a bad haircut, an overbite and a long abiding fear of "the gays".
Thankfully, reason has prevailed, Adam Lambert wowed, Lady Gaga shrieked, Piers Morgan opened a can of jihad on any Christian guest and Joel Osteen tripped over his tongue trying not to offend. Truth is - homophobia is not on the endangered list just yet. Contrary to popular opinion, the USA is the most homophobic country in the world and it appears to be getting worse by the hour. Real fear and trembling can be seen nearly every day and on every newscast; but it's not the owner of a fast-food franchise or a born-again actor from "Growing Pains" that are the fearful: Dan Cathy and Kirk Cameron aren't frightened of homosexuals or they wouldn't dare stand in opposition and risk getting "Dr. Laura'd".
Who are the real homophobes? The truly fearful are politicians, journalists, Hollywood producers, superintendents, principals, and clergy of the counterfeit church. Many are the "straight" people in the "pride" parade, from the city politician skittish of pink rage to the business owner that hyperventilates at the prospect of protests and boycotts; Donald Trump and the Miss USA pageant who keep picking judges that issue the rainbow litmus test; school children who are told if they are at odds with the gay statement-of-faith that they are infidels filled with hate and marinated in bigotry.
