Ken Vance Motors of the Eau Claire apparently received numerous threatening phone calls from teachers or other state employee union members, causing Jason and Ken Vance and Representative Warren Petryk, representative of the 93rd Assembly District, to consider canceling Warren's May 2nd listening session originally planned to be held in the Ken Vance Motors conference room. "Due to phone calls that we have received, we needed to respectfully request that Rep. Petryk cancel his event that we had originally offered to him," stated Jason Vance, General Manager of Ken Vance Motors. "We wish that we could have upheld our agreement to allow the Representative to hold his meetings with constituents at our location, but we have to put the well-being of our business and customers first."
Ken Vance said that some folks were confused or misinformed as to the intent of the meeting. "Some thought it was a fundraiser. It was to be just a listening session open to all the constituents. We have had meetings here with representatives of both parties, most recently with Ron kind. We just wanted to give Rep. Petryk's constituents an opportunity to meet with him to ask some questions and get some answers," said Ken. He also said he would have gone ahead with the meeting, but Rep. Petryk was concerned about the repercussions and disruptions that might come to Ken Vance Motors.
