Homophobic Foolishness: Why We Can't Talk About Certain Things

                There is an axiom in journalism that an article's value is judged by its sources or lack thereof.  In other words, the more support given by outside sources the better, with the opposite being true.  This is certainly in general not a bad observation.  But, I dare say, some things are so plain that the writer needs not quote anyone.

                For instance, if I were to suggest that there is an ongoing controversy over immigration, no one would argue. Or if it was posed that there is much argument as to whether we should increase our debt as a country or not, it is doubtful any well read person would object.
