The Great Wisconsin Deer Hunt

Fall in Wisconsin is a spectacular time of year. The farmers are busy harvesting their crops. Townfolk are fighting the battle trying to keep lawns green and leaf free for as long as possible. The leaves on the trees are changing to brilliant colors as they go dormant for the winter. The heat of summer dissipates. The air is tinged with a smell of decaying foliage. Now we know deer hunting season is at hand.
Deer hunting is a vital part of our culture here in Wisconsin. Kids as young as 10, Teenage boys and girls, single people, husbands and wives, and the old-timers-some as old as 85 to 90 all anjoy heading out into the cold weather in the early morning hours and just sitting there drinking in the fall weather, the stillness and serenity, the breathless anticipation, the aura of Wisconsin.
