You Have Destroyed Yourself

Hosea 13:9 "O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself, but in Me is thine help."
Dear reader, all of our lives have been greatly marred or destroyed. It may vary or not be so obvious in some, but it is there. The effects loom large at times, especially when forced to face the truth. From the effects of broken marriages and uncomely habits to years of self-centeredness and vain purposes, the marks have lined our body, soul and spirit. And how did this come to be? Oh, let us see it is true (some of you do see it is so), and we will have a list of alibis. We blame our parents, spouses, bosses or workers, the government, poor education, ignorance and a host of other people and places. But what does God's Word say? It makes plain that you destroyed yourself. You brought it on. Your emptiness, vanity and wreckage were caused by none other than you. Did others affect this? No doubt. Just as, by the way, you affected others to the bad (to deny this is to be deceived). But ultimately you caused the destruction presently in your life. Do you not see this? "The soul that sins, it shall die." God Almighty holds you responsible for the turmoil and mess in your life. And reader, if you see this, then you will finally be interested in the Lord's remedy - the Great Physician - Jesus Christ! Come to him today. Confess you destroyed yourself. Acknowledge this. Look to Him to forgive you of this. Ask Jesus to save you from it. Do so today. "For whosoever shall call upon the Lord shall be saved!" (Acts 2:21)
