Frederick the Wise and Scott Walker

            In the year 1521, Martin Luther was rescued from death by the interposition of a lesser magistrate named Frederick the Wise. Luther had been condemned by Charles V, who in his Edict of Worms, declared Luther to be a "notorious heretic" and ordered his arrest and capture.
