Recycling Cuts Promote Lawlessness

By law all Wisconsinites must recycle certain household materials. To assist us in our civil obligations, many counties pay the garbage companies to pick up the glass, plastic, aluminum, and paper materials that we are to place in the recycling bin every week. Recycling isn't free. Some recyclable materials give the garbage companies and the county a profit. But most of the money comes from our taxes. A major portion of this comes from Madison.
But with the looming budget crisis in this state, Governor Walker has cut about 25% of the state's portion. He originally wanted to cut it all, much to the anger of even many GOP legislators who heard the ire of local governments in their districts.
