Wisconsin Legislature Likely to Settle for Concealed Carry Permits

The passage of a constitutional carry bill is not likely after negative statements from Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald and Governor Scott Walker. Fitzgerald told UpFront with Mike Gousha that he would support such a bill but his caucus would not. "If I had to guess, knowing my caucus as well as I do and the individual senators, I think we're headed toward some type of conceal carry that probably has some permitting process attributed to it," Fitzgerald said.
Meanwhile, Governor Walker made an official statement saying that he would only support a limited conceal carry bill. "If a concealed carry bill reaches my desk, it should include a permit and training provisions."
