Passing on Our Rifleman Heritage

The rain that Saturday morning made for a perfect, bug-free afternoon for eleven shooters, young and old, to hone and improve their shooting skills. But that was not all they received on the beautiful grass-covered rifle range just south of Colfax, Wisconsin. "Rifle marksmanship and our history are tied together. We honor our founding fathers with our marksmanship and by telling the story of April 19th, 1775" said Martin Hill, a shoot boss for the Appleseed Project event organized by the Revolutionary War Veterans Association.
Many have credited the American's ability to shoot their targets from long distances for winning its war for freedom. Passing down that rifleman tradition is what the Appleseed Project is all about. And the history centers around one significant day.
