I hope this doesn't come across as self-serving, but I have something for you to view that I think is important. As a friend of mine once said "something's are better felt, than telt." This is one of those things. I have been writing a regular commentary for nearly five years and I am honored to have developed a group of loyal readers, some who actually enjoy what I have to say, and I appreciate the feedback, both pro and con, I receive on a regular basis. But this one is going to be a little different.
I have been given the opportunity to speak at several Tea Parties here in the Midwest. I guess word travels fast that I have something to say that is worth hearing. Initially, many of the organizers were hesitant to invite me because of the strong Christian message that I deliver. In their desire to obtain "unity" they were fearful that a message addressing the "moral issues" would be "divisive." "Many of us agree with you, Coach, but not all of the Tea Party folks are Christian. We love the enthusiasm you bring but we are wondering if you can tone down the 'religion' a little bit? We don't want to offend any of our members. It is hard enough to get people to work together."
