Today's Faulty View of Love

On Sundays The New York Times includes a regular feature called "Modern Love." It consists of essays submitted by real people about what passes for modern love these days. Here's how the Times describes the essays in its section on how to submit a piece: "The editors of 'Modern Love' are interested in receiving deeply personal essays about contemporary relationships, marriage, dating, parenthood....Ideally, essays should spring from some central dilemma the writer has faced in his or her life. It helps if the situation has a contemporary edge, though this is not essential."
